ERG is seeking a part-time Research Analyst to join our Economic and Policy Analysis practice that supports a wide range of policy-oriented research at the federal, state, and local levels. Our clients include the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Coast Guard (USCG), Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and others. \n Job Description: Serving as a technical analyst for domestic U.S. projects related to policies and regulations affecting public health, worker safety and health, and the environment Working with large data sets (e.g., performing data cleaning, merging, matching, visualization, etc.) using R, Python, SAS, or other statistical analysis tools Implementing RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) Using AI and machine learning across various types of projects Conducting technical literature reviews Supporting mid- and senior-level staff in analyzing benefits, costs, and impacts of regulations, policies, and programs Supporting mid- and senior-level staff in conducting evaluations of public health and environmental programs using standard and innovative quantitative and/or qualitative methods and techniques Supporting primary data collection efforts which include field and web surveys, interviews, and focus groups Preparing sections of projects reports, memoranda, quantitative models, and presentations Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in an economic or other quantitative field, such as Mathematical Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Sociology or related degree Good proficiency in R, Python, C, C++, SAS, or STATA for coding, data analysis and predictive analytics Ability to conduct technical analyses both quantitative and qualitative in nature Ability to implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) Ability to implement AI tools and machine learning effectively across project types Ability to manage deadlines effectively across multiple projects Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate analyses and findings to various stakeholders in non-technical language Excellent time management and organizational skills Proficiency in MS Office Applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Teams \n $28 - $35 an hour \n ERG offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, educational benefits, FSAs, a generous 401k plan, profit sharing, an EAP, 11-20 paid vacation days per year, 10 paid holidays per year, 56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro-rated for part-time) and more.
